ABSTRACT |
ESDU 84041 gives approximate values of a number of properties of common materials of interest in tribological calculations. Density, tensile modulus, Poissonchr(39)s ratio, linear thermal expansion coefficient, thermal conductivity, specific heat capacity, and melting or softening temperature are tabulated in customary British and SI units. The materials are grouped into metals, polymers, and ceramics, and the relative magnitudes of values applicable to those groups are illustrated in charts. Guidance is included for conversion between different systems of units. |
