    Nowadays there is a great need of using the biomass which can be used as energy sources because of
    the environmental issues and depletion of the fossil fuels. The internal combustion engine operated with lower
    heating value gas is expected to be one of the suitable alternatives as a power station. Generally, gas from
    biomass or landfill has lower heating value than pure natural gas so that it needs to be considered to alter
    the combustion conditions since it deteriorates the stability of combustion. In this paper, the gas was
    reproduced to imitate the syngas in accordance with low heating value (LHV) of it by mixing with N2, H2
    and CH4. The engine speed was maintained at 1800rpm which is the same frequency of stationary plant
    exerts. This research investigates the combustion characteristics of the syngas when it is mixed with hydrogen
    mixture ranging from the ratio of 10 ~ 30% with respect to total target low heating value
