    초록(영문)

    Abstract : Backfire for the spark ignition hydrogen engine was possible to control by retard of the intake valve opening timing(IVO). However, for the HCCI(Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition) H2 engine, backfire occurred due to the excessive pressure rising by high compression ratio even when same method was used. In this study, in-cylinder pressure and intake pressure were analyzed with the intake valve opening timing and the compression ratio, for grasp of transient process and characteristics of backfire occurred in the HCCI H2 engine. As the results, it was shown that backfire was occurred always after knock and was not significantly affected by retard of the intake valve opening timing under given experimental conditions.In addition, the higher compression ratio or the more retarding of intake valve opening timing, the more advanced backfire occurrence timing
