    ABSTRACT The SELENE (SELenological and Engineering Explorer) mission is scheduled for launch in 2003 and will make a soft-landing on the lunar surface in 2004, a year after reaching an orbit around the moon. The ying test bed (FTB) was developed for preliminary terrestrial landing experiments, and the first flight experiment completed at the end of FY 1999. The aim of this experiment was validation of the FTB ight system as a whole. Other experiments are planned to validate the effectiveness of SELENE onboard hardware, such as sensor systems, and softwares for control systems. In order to test these systems, the FTB should have the same dynamic characteristics as the SELENE. In this paper we are concerned with the controller of the FTB, which enables the FTB to follow the SELENE model. Some simulations are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed system to follow the SELENE model. A dynamical closed loop test designed to validate the SELENE onboard attitude and orbit control system is also simulated using this system.
