ABSTRACT |
This report presents experimental results in which the planar images of NO concentration were measured in methane-air flames. The measurement techniques are based on Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence걁PLIF걂. Radiation of Nd갋YAG pumped dye laser with doubling and mixing optical equipments is turned to a wavelength corresponding to the desired fluorescence transition of the걁0,0걂band of the NO A2꺉?겑X2꺇 system, and focused across a plane within the flame. Anintensified CCD camera was used to measure the fluorescence distribution originating from the laser-excited plane. Reacting fields in diffusion flames behind three models of the V-gutter type flameholder have been developed for a ramjet combustor, and were measured at atmospheric pressure. The results clarified that the distribution pattern of the generated thermal NO isdependent on the combustion conditions and the structure of flameholder. |
