ABSTRACT	The cooperative research work on the development of HOPE (H-II rocket orbiting plane) has been conducted by the National Aerospace Laboratory (NAL) and the National Space Development Agency (NASDA) since 1987. As a part of this research, wind tunnel tests were conducted to analyze the aerodynamic characteristics of several candidate shapes of the orbiter. All data obtained in the tests were recorded as ″ the HOPE Wind Tunnel Data Base ″in the NAL Data Base system. This report describes the contents of the wind tunnel data base compiled during the first stage (1987～1989)
