    ABSTRACT There is growing evidence that trace species, both gaseous and particulate, from aircraft play an important role in the chemistry of the atmosphere. Currently, very little is known about the concentration of these species. This paper descibes the concentrations of speciated hydrocarbon constituents, aldehydes in the exhaust of a fan jet engine, FJR710/20, at operating conditions of idle-in, idle-out, and approach. More than 20 organic species in the exhaust were idenfified by GC-MS.
