ABSTRACT |
This study attempted to improve the hot duct connecting the air heater to the hot shut-off valve of the large hypersonic wind tunnel with two newly designed thermal insulation systems. The performance of the thermal insulation system of ceramic fibers covered with stainless steel plates and the other of heat resistant foil layers was assessed by axisymetric 2-dimensional heat calculations with conduction coefficients obtained experimentally.
